Jo-Jo bit dad yesterday
Jo-Jo my Senegal parrot bit my dad in the arm yesterday. She really doesn't seem to like men. Dad was out by the slider feeding peanuts to the squirrels, where Jo-Jo's cage is positioned. And Jo-Jo took a nip out of him. When I first bought Jo-Jo 8 years ago, the original owner (who was a woman) told me that she didn't like men and that she didn't like her husband. It seems like everytime a man comes into the room and I am holding Jo-Jo she is upset. And then she will start getting nippy with me. Jo-Jo is a female and was hand raised by a woman, so maybe this had something to do with her preferred bonding with women. I think it's interesting. But I just wish she wouldn't have bit my dad like she did. The skin on his arm was peeled back a bit because he is 79 and his skin is thin. :( Poor dad. Poor Jo-Jo. Maybe I should move her cage.I can hear spring birds chirping outside right now. It's so relaxing.

I wonder if a man ever was mean to JoJo?
I also wonder if a man was ever mean to Jo-Jo. She was hand raised by a woman, and I bought her from the original owner when she was a year old. The original owner was complaining of her being mean to her husband and not liking him 8 years ago. I often wonder why some birds take on to one gender over another. For example: my cousin's conure, Captain, definitely prefers men over women.
